Apply to the Senior School
Guided by our Waconian Values, we encourage our young people to question, challenge, and think creatively about the world around them and their role within it, enabling them to fulfil their potential and flourish in the wider world.
Entry to our Senior School
Entry to our Senior School is on a competitive basis: admission is subject to the availability of a place and to the candidate meeting the entry requirements at the time. The Head’s decision in accepting or refusing a candidate is final. In order to ensure fairness and to protect the integrity of the system, results of assessments including the Entrance Examinations and the interview are not discussed with parents or made public.
How to Apply
The deadline for applications for September 2021 entry has now closed.
Cheadle Hulme School is an academically selective school and, as such, sets its own Entrance Examination. Applicants for entry into Year 7 are examined in Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning. Copies of previous papers are not available although specimen questions and further information about the papers can be found here.
Applicants who do well enough in the initial written examination will be invited to attend for an interview. Not all those interviewed, however, will be offered a place. At the interview stage we are looking for potential, a wide range of interests and personal values very much aligned with our own. A School Report is requested from the Head of the applicant’s current school. The Head’s recommendation and comments about the character and work ethic of the individual are an important part of our selection process too.
