On Wednesday 28 November the Junior Swimming Team took home 5 medals at the AJIS Swimming Gala held at Darwen Leisure Centre.
This Gala attracts some of the best swimmers in the North West and is an extremely competitive event.
The Gala comprises of Heats and Finals and CHS secured places in 15 Finals out of the 20 events entered. This is a significant achievement and well done to all our swimmers.
The Finals were exciting, extremely competitive and often nothing more than the touch finish separating the final result.
We are incredibly proud to announce that we came away with silverware too. Lottie Bischof won Silver in the U11 50 m Frontcrawl, Daniel Grottolo won Bronze in the U11 50m Breaststroke and Bethan Taylor, Leila Iddon, Poppy Gill and Jessica Leslie won Bronze for the U10 Girls Freestyle Relay Team.
The U11 Boys Medley Relay team also came away with a Bronze, the team consisted of Ismaeel Latif, Daniel Grottolo, Barnabas Toth, Henry Sawer and then the same group of boys went one stage better with a truly outstanding swim to take Silver in the U11 Freestyle Relay.
A big well done to Jessica Leslie who came 4th in the U10 25m Breaststroke, Leila Iddon who was 4th in the U10 25m Front crawl and Edward Harrop who was 4th in the U10 25m Frontcrawl.
Mrs Davies said: “I could not have been prouder of our pupils, their team spirit, enthusiasm and swimming was excellent. It was great to see their hard work training and commitment paying off.”
