This half term, the Junior School took on the mammoth task of taking all 97 Year 3 and 4 pupils to MGS for a football fixture. The 97 pupils involved were spread over 8 teams and gave the pupils the opportunity to apply the football skills they have developed as part of the Games curriculum.
It was a great spectacle, having over 180 children playing football in one place, many representing the School for the first time.
Mr Cartwright said: “Our Year 5 and 6 pupils have so many opportunities to represent CHS in a range of sports and do so incredibly well, it is important we introduce our younger pupils to this experience so they are well prepared by the time they get to the upper Juniors and fixtures become a regular event.
Today was about getting as many children as possible taking part in a fun and safe environment and having fun. A huge thanks to all the staff that have given up their time to support with this fixture – it was quite an undertaking!”
