Young entrepreneurs with an interest in business were given top advice from a panel of professionals at CHS’s Business and Entrepreneurialism Event.
Hosted by CHS Head of Business Studies and Economics, Mr Conor McCauley, the evening featured leading experts from a variety of industries, who have taken different paths in forging successful careers.
Students and parents heard from Duncan McCombe (founder of Network Young), Simon Cuerden (a Partner at Deloitte LLP), Sheona Southern (Managing Director of Marketing Manchester) and Carrie Green (Founder of the Female Entrepreneur Association and author of the book She Means Business).
Also speaking at the event, Old Waconians Michael Heaven Jr, (Class of 2009, Account Director and co-founder of Social Chain, New York) and Daniel Sylvester (Class of 2003, founder of multi-arts venue orgnaisation Oval Space and London Craft Beer Festival) told their own stories of life in the working world after attending CHS.
Audience members were invited to ask questions to the special guests, who offered insightful and entertaining stories along with honest advice.
Topics discussed included whether it’s important to go to university, setting goals, finding the right mindset, and future ambitions.
Following the discussion, students and parents enjoyed an opportunity to meet with members of the panel in an informal networking session.
