CHS Netballers are England School Cup Finalists

Impressive performances from CHS’s U16 and U19 Netball teams has seen them become finalists in the National Schools Netball Finals 2023!

After qualifying through county and regional rounds, Team CHS travelled to Oundle School in Northamptonshire to compete in the National Schools Netball Cup 2023, with both teams showing spirit, passion and determination during the matches.

In the U16 category, CHS progressed to compete in the National Schools Cup Semi Finals where the team ran out 12-8 winners against Presdales School before putting up a good match against Torquay Girl’s Grammar School and being placed 6th nationally.

Co-curricular Coordinator Mrs Clare Patrick commented on the team’s placings: “U19s played some great netball in parts in the group matches. The team beat the eventual winners of the tournament 8-6 in their group which just shows how close all the games were! The team should be very proud of their achievement though as they were a small squad and they did extremely well to get this far in the competition.

U16s played some great netball and all the squad played a key role in getting them this far in the competition. They should be very proud of their achievement!”

Pupils had huge support at Oundle School from members of the CHS Community, many travelling down to cheer them on.
