CHS Creatives Impress Judges In Art Competition

Artistic talent of CHS students was celebrated when their creations were displayed as part of an exhibition for the the 17th Living Edge Magazine Schools Art Prize at the Lowry Arts Centre, Salford Quays.

Upper Sixth student Meg Jones, Beth Lomas in Year 11 and Year 7 student Max Cooper each represented CHS painting and drawing talent in their age-categories where members of the public could view their artwork before it was assessed by a panel of judges.

Max won the Under 14s category for the second year in a row, with Beth and Meg both highly commended for their paintings in the Under 16s and Under 18s category respectively.

CHS Head of Art & Design, Mr Adam Hayley said: “We are delighted with our students’ achievements particularly considering the high level of talent in the competition… each of the students’ works really stood out alongside their competitors across the North West.”
