Double Triumph for CHS Netballers
For the second consecutive year, CHS Netballers are North West champions, and now go on to compete in the National Schools Netball Finals!
The England Netball National Schools Competition is the largest and longest running tournament in English Netball, with around 1500 schools taking part each year. The competition begins with the county rounds in December, and goes through to regionals and finals.
The competition consists of three age groups, under 14, under 16 and under 19. This year, CHS’s U14s and U19s have emerged victorious through the county and regional levels, earning their spot in the final at Oundle School.
The path to the final was paved with unwavering determination, showcased brilliantly by both teams. The semi-finals witnessed CHS U19s triumphing over Cardinal Newman and Holy Cross, while the U14s secured their victories against Hodgson and Kings Macc.
Reflecting on both of the team’s journeys, CHS Netball Coach, Miss Leanne Thomas said: “These teams have worked extremely hard to get to this point and are a credit to the coaches and the school. The students have displayed an immense work rate on and off the court including S+C, court training and video analysis.
Both teams are truly deserving of their place at these finals. With both the U19’s and U14 having previous National schools and National cup success in recent years, we are attending very excited to showcase what CHS netball is about and performing well at this competition, we’re going for the win!”
