In a dramatic late charge, CHS Junior School’s House team Heywood have won the Junior School House Trophy for 2017 after accumulating over 5000 house points over the course of the year.
That’s 5000 times the Infant and Junior pupils representing Heywood House have worked extra hard/been kind and helpful to another member of our school community.
Heywood’s House Captains were presented with their trophy in assembly by Junior School Head, Mrs Barbara Bottoms and each member of the house were given an extra 10 minutes break-time and also received a special prize.
Throughout the year’s competition which saw the School’s four Houses win over 19 thousand points across 12 months, the pupils worked hard to improve their skills and develop the Waconian values of Integrity, endeavour, compassion, resilience and contribution.
Junior School Deputy Head, Mr Malcom Johnson said: “Thank you to the staff for all their hard work in supporting House activities over the past year, it’s very important to the children as an incentive and offers lots of opportunities for leadership and teamwork.”
