Junior Athletes Shine at AJIS Indoor Athletics

Waconian athletes had a record-breaking performance at the recent Association of Junior Independent Schools (AJIS) Indoor Athletics competition!

Over 300 pupils from across the region competed in a wide range of events, including 28 Waconians from Years 5 and 6.

Team CHS showcased exceptional skill and determination, winning an impressive haul of medals: 28 golds, 3 silvers, and 4 bronzes, across almost all disciplines!

Mrs Steph Walker, Junior School Sports Lead said: “We were so proud of the hard work and commitment the pupils have put into preparing for the AJIS Indoor athletics, and it was fantastic to see so many of our team come home with a medal, with the event being our most successful set of results in the history of our attendance.

“Hosting an event of this stature is very rewarding, as out of all the 21 schools who attended the event, every school took home a medal, and it offers over 300 pupils an opportunity to represent their school in athletics.”
