Altruistic pupils in Year 3 – Year 6 learned about the gift of giving this Christmas, after donating more than 50 festive hampers to local senior citizens.
Filling their own hand-decorated shoeboxes with food and gifts, the Juniors loaded their donations into a van, ready to be delivered to Stockport’s AGE UK centre for distributing across the wider community this festive season.
The shoebox hampers will be donated to those who are lonely and won’t receive any presents at this time of year.
Year 5 pupils Ayden and Daniel were especially happy to be involved. Of Stockport’s AGE UK residents, they said: “They might not get anything this Christmas…it feels really good to know they will get something they can enjoy.”
