Mrs Rawling got a surprise when she found out two of her students, Tom Joynson and Lucy Hardcastle, are in a play outside of school which she is also acting in.
She said: “I am loving being part of this show after the initial shock of discovering that my ‘out of school’ hobby was not to be as ‘out of school ‘ as I had imagined.
“Not only are Tom and Lucy pupils at CHS but I happen to teach both of them!”
The three Waconians are acting in Ghost Train, a comedy suspense thriller set in 1925 about a group of railway passengers stranded at a station.
Mrs Rawling is playing the part of Julia, the woman convinced there is a genuine ghost train and does her best to get the rest of the passengers to leave for their safety.
She hasn’t been asking for very long, saying: “I am fairly new to acting, I took part in my first ever play 3 years ago, aged 53. Now it has become a major passion and The Ghost Train will be my sixth play.”
Tom and Lucy, both in Lower Sixth, play the married couple Elsie and Richard.
The play is running from Saturday 1 December to Saturday 8 December excluding Sunday 2 December at the Garrick Theatre, Stockport.
