Soaring sonatas and mesmerising melodies filled the newly refurbished Holden Hall when CHS’s Senior Strings players took part in a workshop with professional music arranger and conductor Tim Crooks.
Leading a lively and stimulating session Tim and the Manchester String Quartet (featuring musicians Natalie Perton, Mike Dale, and Sarah Smyth) provided with the students with plenty of inspiration following their recent appearance in School’s Annual Celebration at The Bridgewater Hall.
Looking forward to their forthcoming festive performances after half term, the Senior Strings have been busy practising, and the fresh new setting of Holden Hall provided the perfect backdrop.
CHS Head of Music, Mr Philip Dewhurst said: “It was a valuable experience for all of our Senior Strings players and the newley refurbished hall provided a much improved ambience with wonderful acoustics, also making the experience aesthetically much more pleasing.”
