It was a magical time when librarian wizards, a literary fairy and a book bear all came together to celebrate the official opening of the brand new Infant library!
Enjoying an enchanting assembly, pupils in Reception to Year 2 heard all about their new space from a magical literary fairy and how they will be able to get involved by becoming ‘librarian wizards’ to look after and monitor the new facilities.
The pupils were also visited by Book Bear, who joined them alongside members of Cheadle Hulme School Parents Association (CHSPA) in a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Part-funded by the efforts of the CHSPA, the new library contains new books including some of the latest releases and will also be used as a teaching area for small groups.
Bookmarks, inspirational quotes from Dr Seuss and JK Rowling and pupil artwork adorn the walls giving the space a personal touch.
CHS Infant teacher, Mrs Yvonne Lyng said: “It will be a magical place where the infants can tell each other about their favourite stories share their favourite books.”
