You’d have been forgiven for thinking it was a December morning as the snow loomed and temperature peaked at 0 degrees for the latest AJIS Junior Football Festival.
Nevertheless the ever-resourceful CHS ground staff relocated fixtures and prepared the facilities brilliantly to allow for the U9 competition to go ahead.
Taking part, CHS entered 5 of the 20 teams from more than 12 Schools taking part, totalling 34 Year 3 and Year 4 pupils representing the School.
There were some tough fixtures amongst competitive schools and the blizzards made it difficult to play with many pupils and spectators really feeling the cold.
Thankfully the Parents Association were on hand to provide hot drinks and bacon sandwiches to keep everyone going.
All in all it was a successful morning for CHS sport; there were no overall winners or losers on this occasion, just lots of young players developing their ability and love of sport.
