Amazing Support for The Amazing Appeal

With the amazing support of the CHS Community, over £2000 has been raised through The Amazing Appeal so far – all in aid of the CHS Bursary Fund!

Generous donations have been received from CHS families, staff, governors, and Old Waconians who also bought CHS silk ties, scarves and raffle tickets for the cause during the 128th Old Waconians Dinner. All raffle tickets sold out, putting forward a great contribution to the fund.

Families are also continuing to fundraise for the appeal through their Christmas shopping by purchasing items from the CHS Gift Shop and through the Amazon Smile initiative.

CHS Fundraising Manager and Old Waconian, Patrick Robbins, Class of 2017 said: “There’s a reason we’re calling this the amazing appeal; the support of everyone so far has quite literally been ‘amazing’ and it’s thanks to them all that we’ll be able to increase the number of pupils who can access the Bursary Fund. This will not only benefit those families directly, but also creates a more diverse pupil body within the CHS School community.”

Beyond the appeal, the Class of 2023 are planning their Leavers Gift to The Bursary Fund. This tradition of graduating classes was started by the Class of 2012 and since then each year group has fundraised in different ways from events to telephone campaigns.

With 1 in 12 CHS Senior School pupils currently receiving Bursary support The Amazing Appeal recalls the philanthropic foundation of CHS and experiences of many Old Waconians. It aims to transform the lives of as many young people as possible through offering children of talent and ambition a high-quality education whilst enriching the experience of every pupil at CHS.
