CHS Lower Sixth student Grace Woosey has been awarded the coveted Arkwright Scholarship for Engineering.
Facing steep competition in the field, Grace received the accolade by Network Rail. This year, due to the current situation affecting a reduction in the number of sponsors, competition was especially high.
Grace had originally sat the exam for the Scholarship in School in February but the award was made at the beginning of October, due to the usual prestigious award ceremony in London happening remotely.
CHS Teacher of Design & Technology and Co-ordinator of the Arkwright Scholarship at CHS, Mrs Fiona Buxton said: “This is a terrific achievement to be awarded a Scholarship in such a competitive field and we’re so proud of Grace and her success.”
