Year 5 got creative and designed their own t-shirts in a Design & Art project about typography, logo design and product marketing.
Tasked with researching different logos before inventing their own business idea and creating branding for it, the pupils put their marketing analysis into practice.
They considered the factors that make a strong logo, including design, colours, and understanding why they would be chosen to sell a particular product or service.
The pupils also looked at typography and the effects created by various fonts as well as the size and shape of simple and clever logos.
Year 5 then sketched their own logo ideas, discussed their choices and selected their best design to paint and stencil onto a t-shirt.
After creating their t-shirt, the pupils perfected their poses and modelled their artistic creations during a fun fashion photo shoot.
CHS Junior School Teacher. Mrs Sue Flynn said: “I think the children found it a challenging project, but coped well and surprised themselves with the finished results.”
“It’s the first time most of them have completed a typography project such as this. It provides them with skills which will help them develop projects like the Enterprise tasks in Year 6 as well as when they move to the Senior School.”
