CHS’s U11 netball team is celebrating a fantastic season finale after taking home silver as runners-up in the AJIS netball tournament.
Taking place at Stockport Grammar School, in the group stages, CHS beat Bolton School (7-0), Bridgwater School (13-0) and Queens Chester (8-1).
This put them into the winners’ group for the afternoon matches. The girls then went on to beat Bury Grammar (7-2) and The Grange (6-2).
Making the final, CHS showed great game but just lost out to Alderley Edge School 6-2 in their last game.
Junior school PE teacher, Mrs Ruth Fisher said it was an amazing achievement, particularly as it was the last competition for this team, who have not lost a match in over 20 fixtures since they started playing competitively in Year 5 two years ago.
She said: “Huge congratulations to the girls for a highly successful couple of seasons, unbeaten over two years until their last match… what a great way to finish the season.”
“All the players did a fantastic job and I was so proud to see them play so well – they had a great attitude and it was wonderful to see them really thinking about everything we had been learning during our practice sessions. I’m looking forward to what they achieve next!”
