Last week saw our U11 rugby players compete in the U11 AJIS Rugby Festival at Merchant Taylor’s School before travelling to Jersey as part of the Junior School sports tour.
In the course of the week, the pupils played 7 games of rugby, a mixture of 7s rugby and 9 aside.
The team was undefeated in all 7 fixtures, showing a strong skill set and working hard as a unit.
The team played against some tough opposition during the week, including; The Manchester Grammar School, St. Ambrose, The Grange, Merchant Taylors’, St. Michael’s School (Jersey) and Jersey Reds Rugby club.
It was very pleasing to see them playing ‘the CHS way’: going forward, finding space, offloading in contact and being creative on the pitch.
Mr Cartwright said: “I am extremely proud of this group of players and how they have grown over the last four years, they have been a credit to the Junior School in all of their rugby endeavours and I look forward to seeing them grow as they continue their rugby journeys in the Senior School.”
