Congratulations to CHS’s first XI girls’ hockey team who are celebrating as winners in the next round of England Hockey’s National Schools competition.
Finding success in the first round at Altrincham Grammar School and taking the top spot after playing Withington, Stockport and Altrincham, CHS travelled to Timperley Hockey Club, beating Austin Friars, Merchant Taylors and Kirkham Grammar schools.
The team have now made their way through to the next (North round) of the competition which will take place in Leeds on the 23rd November.
CHS’s new Head of Hockey, Mr Andrew Gibson has worked hard to develop new ways of playing with the Senior team. He said: “I have been really impressed with the leadership group within the team, Fiona Collins, Elise Johnson and Annie Hebb.. They showed great togetherness and helped the team handle pressured moments extremely well.”
CHS Hockey Coach Mrs Maw said: “The girls were superb throughout and showed real teamwork and determination.”
