Waconian Wellbeing Week 2023
From 9-15 October, CHS is celebrating it’s second annual #WaconianWellbeingWeek. Each day, there will be plenty of activities going on across site for pupils and staff to get involved in, so we’ll be updating this page as and when, so you don’t miss out on the best bits!
One of the first activities on offer this week, is lunchtime Yoga!
Yoga can improve focus, memory, self esteem, classroom behaviour and academic performance, and is the perfect way to relax in as little as ten minutes! Pupils enjoyed a zen lunchtime practising new moves such as child’s pose and downward dog.
#Take10ToRead
Reading can help you relax, boost your mood and escape elsewhere – and it doesn’t have to be a book. It could be the post-match analysis of Saturday’s football game, an interview with your favourite actor, DIY hacks or even recipes. Reading something that interests you can transport you away from day-to-day life.
That’s why this week, Waconians are taking part in the National Literacy Trust initiative #Take10toRead.
Bike and blend your own smoothie!
Lunchtime got interesting when pupils were invited to make their own pedal powered smoothies!
Listen to live music with friends
Year 7 Waconians were treated to a brilliant gig from Andy Stott’s RNCM Student Band! The group played hits from George Ezra, Amy Winehouse and Bruno Mars, all whilst pupils sang along! The afternoon ended with chants of ‘we want more’ and a final cover of Year 3000 by Busted.
