CHS says Hello Yellow this World Mental Health Day
In a vibrant display of compassion, pupils & staff across CHS’s Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form donned a splash of yellow in aid of Young Minds.
YoungMinds, the UK’s leading charity supporting young people with their mental health, created #HelloYellow day to encourage open conversations about mental health and highlight the importance of looking out for one another.
From yellow socks to headbands, ties and scarves, the School Community united to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and well-being, and make the day a little brighter.
Pupils also marked World Mental Health Day in the Library, by putting aside 10 minutes to read a book during recess or dinner time.
Sol, Head Pupil said: “The Sixth Form Council always has the wellbeing of pupils at it’s heart, which is why we’re putting on a wear yellow for mental health awareness day this term. Just the simple act of acknowledging the importance of this issue goes a lot further than anyone could realise, even something as small as wearing a yellow tie or pair of socks helps. This year, the hard working equalities committee are putting on a few events like this, including show racism the red card day next week, so keep an eye out!”
As a proud member of the NCI’s FREDIE framework, the wear yellow project is part of a broader series of activities throughout the year focussing on wellbeing and inclusivity. Read more.
