Waconians take the lead in inspiring CHS podcast series
Recently CHS has welcomed a number of Old Waconians and guest speakers to appear on the School’s Ed. Podcast, sharing insights not only into careers but also into school life, personal growth and life beyond the school gates.
Unlike traditional career talks, the Ed. Podcast allows for Waconians to take the lead, conducting the interviews, asking the questions and delving into the topics they find most relevant.
Podcast episodes cover a wide range of topics, from career advice and navigating life after CHS, to reflections on School memories and personal growth.
Year 11 pupil and podcast co-host Julia says: “I absolutely love hosting podcast episodes at school. It’s such a great chance for me to chat in front of an audience, step out of my comfort zone, and connect with inspiring guests and Old Waconians!”
Co-host Frankie adds to this: “I enjoy hosting the podcast because I get to talk to so many different people about doing what they love. It’s interesting and also useful to see the vast spread of career choices that are out there!”
Recently featured guests have included Old Waconians from fields such as fashion, equality and diversity, and content creation, as well as guest speakers from areas such as elite sports and entrepreneurship.
The Ed. Podcast is a reflection of CHS’s mission to foster a supportive, interconnected community, giving Waconians the chance to hear from people who were once in their shoes.
