Warm temperatures, blazing sunshine, and light winds were no match for CHS sailor Siân as she braved the elements to take bronze at the RS Feva World Championships 2016 in Spain.
Competing alongside 330 sailors in challenging weather conditions, Siân and sailing partner Eloise sailed their double handed Feva vessel to success alongside 165 other boats.
Her first time sailing in the competition and visiting Santander, Siân attended the competition’s ‘Olympics’ style opening ceremony before embarking upon 3 days of sailing.
A strong start, Siân & Eloise took 6th place during the first day of sailing, overtaking a few of the gold fleet in the process. Only 5 points separated the top 6 boats.
Showing endeavour, the pair moved up to third place before battling fierce winds and tidal changes to finish the third day of sailing in the top thirteen places of every race – clinching the bronze medal in the silver fleet.
Congratulations Siân!
