Year 3 took part in a progress concert in the Junior School Hall for parents and their friends.
They have been learning to play the cello, violin or viola since January this year and performed six pieces for their audience.
Junior School Music Teacher, Mrs Hilary Marsden was really impressed with their performance and spoke of the benefits of learning an instrument. She said: “It has many advantages. It builds confidence, improves your patience, enhances your memory and gives you a sense of achievement. It encourages you to be creative and increases self-discipline and the ability to manage your time. Most of all its fun and a great way to make new friends!”
She continued; “We’re very proud of Year 3. They’ve worked hard this year and their behaviour and attitude to learning has been excellent. Many thanks to string teachers Mrs Whettham, Mrs Carey and Mrs Studman too – well done everyone!”
