Year 5 braved the ‘Beast from the East’ and enjoyed a fantastic residential trip to London.
In extremely cold conditions CHS’s intrepid explorers set off for London to enjoy a 2 night stay with a jam-packed itinerary over the course of 3 days.
Visiting the Tower of London, the pupils saw the Crown Jewels and the spot where Ann Boleyn lost her head.
Green Park was the perfect location for an impromptu snowball fight before dinner at The Hard Rock Café.
After a good night’s sleep, day 2 saw the pupils visit and take part in a workshop at Shakespeare’s Globe, tour The Natural History Museum and take in the city sights during an historical walk to Trafalgar Square.
Mrs Sargent took the pupils back in time with facts and stories about the famous location before everyone got ready to rock the night away at the theatre watching West End musical, ‘The School of Rock’.
The trip came to a magical end by visiting the wizarding world of the Harry Potter Tour at Warner Bros Studio.
Embarking upon their journey home, the bus arrived ahead of schedule, despite the best efforts of the weather and everyone arrive back in Cheadle Hulme exhausted but satisfied that they had all had a fantastic time!
Year 5 Teacher, Mr Kevin Offord said that it was a brilliant experience for everyone, including both pupils and staff. He said: “The staff who accompanied the children were hugely pleased with their behaviour and attitude – the children once again did our School proud.”
